Sense8’s Toby Onwumere joins The Matrix 4

December 11, 2019 by Ricky Church

Jonathan Groff isn’t the only actor to join The Matrix 4 in recent days as Deadline has reported Toby Onwumere will re-team with his Sense8 co-creator on the next instalment of The Matrix franchise.

Plot details on The Matrix 4 are being kept under wraps, although Groff will be joining an already announced cast including Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Jada Pinkett Smith will reprise their roles as Neo, Trinity, and Niobe respectively.

Additionally, Aquaman villain Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is joining the franchise as a lead with Jessica Henwick (Iron Fist), Neil Patrick Harris (A Series of Unfortunate Events) and Jonathan Groff (Frozen II) in roles that are also kept under wraps.

Lana Wachowski will direct The Matrix 4 from a script she has co-written with Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell. Filming is expected to get underway in early 2020.
