Lark Voorhies to return as Lisa Turtle in Saved By the Bell reboot

October 29, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Having initially been left out of the reunion when it was announced back in January, Peacock has announced that Lark Voorhies will be reprising the role of Lisa Turtle for a guest appearance in the eighth episode of the upcoming Saved by the Bell reboot; here’s a first look photo, courtesy of Peacock…

Voorhies joins the returning Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano) and Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater), who are serving as series regulars, while Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris) and Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski-Morris) are also set to guest star.

Voorhies has battled mental health issues in the years following the original Saved by the Bell, and stated back in February that: “I did feel a bit slighted and hurt when I was not invited to be part of the Saved by the Bell reunion, as well as other cast members events. Yet, of course, I also realized that having this puzzling [bipolar] disorder may have played a major part in that factual decision”

When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many underfunded high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the most well-funded schools in the state – including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the privileged Bayside kids (who never have a problem that can’t be solved in twenty-two minutes) a much-needed dose of reality.

The Saved By The Bell reboot features returning cast members Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano), Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater), Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris), Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski-Morris) and Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle) alongside a new young cast of Bayside High students which includes Josie Totah (Champions), Dexter Darden (The Maze Runner), Haskiri Velazquez (The Birch), Mitchell Hoog (Harriet), Alycia Pasqual-Pena (Chase) and Belmont Cameli (Empire). It is set to premiere on November 25th on Peaccock.
