Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible co-stars have no idea if he will even survive his crazy stunts

November 4, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Simon Pegg, one of Tom Cruise’s co-stars in the Mission: Impossible franchise, says he and the cast watch in horror as Cruise performs his stunts, not knowing if he will survive.

Tom Cruise is well known for not only doing his own stunts but seeking out crazier and crazier stunts each time. The Mission: Impossible franchise has become a great playground for Cruise and has seen him perform all sorts of death-defying feats over the years.

Simon Pegg, one of his co-stars in the franchise, has revealed that the cast has their own fears about the stunts Cruise opts to do and can only watch in terror to see if he will make it out of the next one alive.

Speaking to Conan O’Brien, Pegg said: “When you watch the movie and you see him do the stunts, and it’s nail-biting and there’s a real sense of genuine kind of peril and you know that it’s him. But you know he survived because he was on Good Morning America that morning and he did some press. When we watch him do it, we have no idea if he’s going to survive. So he rides a bike off a cliff, and everybody’s just waiting for, ‘Good canopy, good canopy, anybody?’ It’s terrifying.”

Cruise shows no signs of toning down his crazy antics, however, and Mission: Impossible 7 will surely feature some unbelievable stunt work from the star once again. He’s even going to space for a future movie!

Mission: Impossible 7 is set for release on November 19th, 2021 followed by Mission: Impossible 8 on November 4th, 2022. Featuring in the cast are returning seriesstars Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Henry Czerny, along with new additions Esai Morales (Titans), Hayley Atwell (Avengers: Endgame), Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), and Shea Whigham (Boardwalk Empire).
