Star Wars: Dark Forces – The Forgotten Star Wars Masterpiece

January 6, 2021 by Red Stewart

Crymor Gaming presents a look at Star Wars: Dark Forces….

When the original Star Wars hit a stride and took off back in the late 70s, George Lucas knew he had something amazing that could be expanded into every avenue of pop culture. Not only was it popular amongst large groups of people, but it was also churning a large profit!

Video games were one of those areas, and so he began LucasArts in the 1980s, a subsidiary of Lucasfilm that would focus exclusively on developing video games. While a myriad of titles have been (and continue to be) produced since, like Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, many have gone under the radar. One of those being Star Wars: Dark Forces.

Unlike most Star Wars games, Dark Forces has you playing as a rebel soldier, with an emphasis on story and first-person shooter mechanics. A lot of great things came out of the game, but it unfortunately fell under the radar. Well, thanks to CryMor Gaming, that will happen no more!
