Netflix’s Lucifer co-showrunner reveals episode count for sixth and final season

April 3, 2021 by Liam Waddington

With the second portion of Lucifer Season 5 set to debut on Netflix on May 28th, the sixth and final season of the supernatural DC/Vertigo series is fast approaching. Now, in an interview with wordballoon (via CBR), Lucifer co-showrunner Joe Henderson confirmed that the final season will consist of 10 episodes.

Lucifer’s final season will follow the same amount of episodes as the fourth season which was the first season to stream on Netflix after the show was cancelled by Fox. The fifth and current season has a total of 16 episodes, with the first half having been released in August 2020 and the second half arriving next month.

Lucifer Season 5 Part A, which is currently streaming on Netflix and consists of eight episodes, picks up with Lucifer Morningstar still ruling over Hell until his twin brother Michael emerges and begins to cause havoc for Lucifer’s life on Earth.

Lucifer, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.

Lucifer is created by showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson and stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Kevin Alejandro.
