Dying Light: Hellraid adds all new Story Mode – The Prisoner

June 7, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Techland has today released a free new content drop that expands Dying Light’s Hellraid DLC with a brand-new Story Mode.  Alongside the new Story Mode, titled The Prisoner, there are also new areas, weapons and a variety of visual and technical enhancements.  Watch The Prisoner release trailer below to see more of the new content.

With the new Story Mode, players will venture into the demon-infested corridors and caverns that lay deep beneath Ba’al’s Temple in order to rescue a mysterious and powerful mage called Lucius.  The mode features three new quests – Clavis Stone, Imprisoned and Beneath Seals, which are all available in co-op mode.  Those who attempt to rescue Lucius will face spooky new shield bearing skeletons which will need a new strategy of attack.

There will be two new weapons available to help players on these quests, these are the ornate and powerful Corrupted Justice bow (Hellraid’s first-ever ranged weapon) and the formidable Bonecruncher two handed hammer.

As well as The Prisoner, the free update also overhauls the lighting system and adds extra environmental sounds to increase the atmosphere of the game plus it introduces changes to in-game animations, improved minimap functionality, inventory management and more.

Dying Light: Hellraid is a new game mode for Dying Light available on all platforms.
