Metaloid: Origin launches on PS4

July 13, 2021 by Andrew Newton

Eastasiasoft has announced the release of their action platformer Metaloid: Origin on Playstation 4.  This sequel to the 2019 hit Metagal sees players take the role of androids in the defence of their homeworld.  You can watch the new launch trailer below…

In Metaloid: Origin take on the role of three predator android and go up against the robot might of the Lucian Corp, who want to strip their world of all its resources so they can start a war.  Each of the three androids has their own unique abilities to use during battle, with Erika using a spray of bullets, Zeta able to use atomic thunder and Neva able to use a jetpack to attack from above.  There’s a wealth of new weapons that can be unlocked by collecting Soulrium, a material that can be collected from the destroyed robots.

There’s nine different environments for players to fight over, these include forests, deserts, caves and snowfields, and it is essential to defend these from the ravages of the robot menace.

Metaloid: Origin features multiple difficulty settings and all the same endearing pixel art style and music as its predecessor, Metgal.

Metaloid: Origin is available now for the Playstation 4 via the Playstation Store.
