The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that First Generation Films has optioned Jeff Lemire’s graphic novel Essex County and is developing a TV adaptation for Canada’s CBC, with Aaron Martin (Degrassi: The Next Generation) penning the script for the pilot.

Published by Top Shelf Productions, Essex County “follows the genealogy of a family across generations” and is described as “an intimate study of an eccentric community and a tender meditation on family, memory, grief, secrets, and reconciliation.”
