Adam Scott, Jane Lynch and Megan Mullally to reprise roles in Party Down revival series

November 16, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

If your initial reaction to this news is “What’s Party Down?” then you’re not alone, because despite great critical notices and a loyal fanbase, the Paul Rudd, John Enbom, Rob Thomas, and Dan Etheridge created series only ran for two seasons before low-ratings and cast departures forced its cancellation. However, it’s time to dust off the pink bow ties and silver trays, because Starz has just ordered a revival series with almost all of the original cast returning.

According to Variety the original cast including Adam Scott, Jane Lynch, Ken Marino, Martin Starr, Ryan Hansen, and Megan Mullally have signed on to reprise their roles as Henry, Constance, Ron, Roman, Kyle, and Lydia.

The only prominent member of the silver-service crew who won’t be returning is Lizzy Caplan, who played Casey, as she has just signed on to lead Paramount’s Fatal Attraction series.

Running on Starz for two seasons between 2009-2010, Party Down followed an LA catering team comprised of a sextet of Hollywood wannabes stuck working for tips while hoping for their big break. Each episode of the half-hour comedy features the hapless catering team working a new event and inevitably getting tangled up with the guests and their absurd lives.

Paul Rudd, John Enbom, Rob Thomas, and Dan Etheridge will return as executive producers, with Enbom acting as the revival’s showrunner.
