Sandra Oh has mummy issues in creepy trailer for Umma

March 2, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

As we get older, one of our greatest fears is becoming our own parents, and it appears that Sony Pictures Sam Raimi-produced horror Umma is going to tap directly into that by putting Sandra Oh through the wringer on her idyllic little American farm.

The Killing Eve actor plays Amanda, whose life is thrown into turmoil when her mother’s ashes turn up from Korea, bringing with them plenty of things that go bump in the night. Written and directed by Iris K. Shim, you can check out the chilling new trailer here…

Umma, which is the Korean word for “mother,” follows Amanda (Sandra Oh) and her daughter (Fivel Stewart) living a quiet life on an American farm, but when the remains of her estranged mother arrive from Korea, Amanda becomes haunted by the fear of turning into her own mother.

Umma is in cinemas from March 18th, 2022.
