Fox’s Mark Millar adaptation Superior finds screenwriters

January 12, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Variety is reporting that 20th Century Fox is pushing ahead with its plans to bring Mark Millar and Leinil Francis Yu’s comic book series Superior to the big screen, tapping screenwriters Brandon and Phillip Murphy to pen the adaptation of the seven-issue series.

Superior tells the story of Simon Pooni, a 12-year-old boy suffering from multiple sclerosis who is granted a wish from an alien monkey called Ormon and asks to become Superior, his favourite superhero. However, he then discovers that Ormon is actually a demon, and has to sell his soul to the devil in order to keep his powers.

Superior is being produced by Matthew Vaughn, who has already adapted two of Millar’s previous comics in Kick-Ass and Kingsman: The Secret Service.
