Hellbound returning to Netflix with season 2 announcement trailer

September 25, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

If like us you were a fan of Yeon Sang-ho’s 6-part horror/thriller hybrid Hellbound, then amongst all of the announcements at Netflix’s Tudum event the news that a second season was coming to the streaming-service was the most exciting of the weekend.

Based on the Korean webtoon Hell, and directed by Train to Busan‘s Yeon Sang-ho, Hellbound tells a story of a world in which supernatural beings appear and condemn people to hell.

Announced with a brief video that tantalisingly reverses the events of one of the most traumatic sequences of the first run of episodes, you can check out the teaser below…

In Hellbound, supernatural beings appear out of nowhere to condemn people to hell. It doesn’t matter whether these events are a blessing or a curse: a new religious group is interpreting them all as the will of the divine. What unfolds through this predicament is an intense and highly-charged story about people who must survive under conditions of utter social chaos.

Hellbound Season 2 will stream on Netflix sometime in 2023.
