Patrick Stewart open to more Star Trek after Picard’s final season

January 13, 2023 by EJ Moreno

As we know from the franchise’s history, it’s nearly impossible to say goodbye to iconic Star Trek characters.

We saw that as Patrick Stewart made his long-awaited return as Jean-Luc Picard in the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Picard. As we enter the final season, Stewart is looking toward the future and the actor has even teased this won’t be the last you see of him in Star Trek.

“There is still enormous potential for matters in what we can do, and there are doors left open, and we didn’t close all of them,” Stewart said at the Paramount+ TCA press tour.

Executive producer Alex Kurtzman went on to add that “anything is possible… If the show blows the doors off the place, and we’re certainly hoping it will as we’re very proud of season three; who knows.”

In one of the only teases for the upcoming season, we see  Jean-Luc receiving a mysterious message from his decades-old Starfleet communicator. Whether this is Picard’s swansong or not, the final season promises to be an epic Star Trek adventure for the ages.

Star Trek: Picard season 3 sees the return of Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, Jeri Ryan, Michelle Hurd, and Daniel Davis alongside series newcomers Amanda Plummer, Mica Burton, and Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut.

Star Trek: Picard season 3 will premiere on Paramount+ on February 16th, 2023.
