Showtime’s Waco: The Aftermath gets a trailer and premiere date

March 1, 2023 by Amie Cranswick

Showtime has released the first trailer for Waco: The Aftermath, the follow-up to 2018’s drama series Waco. The series focuses the fallout and trials of the surviving members of the Branch Davidian sect and the events that ultimately led to the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. Watch the trailer below…

Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the tragic events at Mt. Carmel that began on February 28, 1993, WACO: THE AFTERMATH focuses on the fallout of the Waco disaster: the trials of the surviving members of the Branch Davidian sect and the rise of homegrown terrorist, Timothy McVeigh. The five-episode limited series also provides a broader context for the escalation of the American militia movement, which foreshadows the infamous attacks of the Oklahoma City bombing and the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

Waco: The Aftermath will see Michael Shannon, John Leguizamo, Shea Whigham, and Annika Marks reprise their roles alongside series newcomers Giovanni Ribisi, David Costabile, J. Smith Cameron, John Hoogenakker, Keean Johnson, Abbey Lee, Alex Breaux, Michael Cassidy, Gary Cole, Nicholas Kolev, Michael Luwoye, Kali Rocha, Michael Vincent Berry, and Sasheer Zamata.

Waco: The Aftermath begins streaming on Showtime on April 14th.
