Disney has released a new teaser for their forthcoming animated feature-film Wish, which gives us another look at Chris Pine’s nefarious King Magnifico, Alan Tudyk’s staple animal sidekick in Valentino the goat, and a snippet of Ariana DeBose’s impressive pipes belting out a tune as the film’s main character Asha. Directed by Frozen‘s Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn, making her feature-film debut, Wish is set in a fantastical land located off the Iberian Peninsula and follows teenager Asha as she makes a wish on a star to save her community, but gets more than she bargained for when a little ball of boundless energy travels down from the sky to help her with her plea.
In “Wish,” Asha, a sharp-witted idealist, makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force—a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star confront a most formidable foe—the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico—to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen.
