Doctor Who: The Church on Ruby Road comes to audiobook

January 4, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Penguin Random House has announced they will be releasing a brand new Doctor Who audiobook on 25th January.  Doctor Who: The Church on Ruby Road is the novelisation of the Fifteenth Doctor’s first full adventure and is read by Angela Wynter, who plays Cherry Sunday in the BBC television series.

The novelisation of Russell T Davies’ television script has been written by Esmie Jikiemi-Pearson and tells the tale of Ruby Sunday’s chance encounter with the Doctor’s latest enemies, and ultimately the Doctor himself.

Ruby Sunday’s birthday is on Christmas Eve, and this particular birthday is one she will never forget when she joins the Doctor aboard the Goblin ship.  This is the day when she learns that the Doctor’s enemies are very hungry and that dangers exist beyond the universe.

The Fifteenth Doctor (as played on TV by Ncuti Gatwa) and Ruby Sunday (played by Millie Gibson) will climb ladders in the sky, face singing goblins (the worst enemies to face) while uncovering the secrets of her birth.

“I’ve been waiting, all this time, for my life to begin. Maybe it’s time to stop waiting. Maybe it’s time to start living.” Ruby Sunday.

Look out for the Doctor Who: The Church on Ruby Road audiobook coming on 25th January.
