Disney shares TRON: Ares first look

March 3, 2024 by Gary Collinson

After kicking off production in January, Disney has now shared an official first-look promo image from TRON: Ares, offering a first glimpse at this new third instalment in the TRON franchise.

TRON: Ares is being directed by Joachim Rønning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) and “follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.”

Jared Leto leads the cast of the film alongside Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, and Gillian Anderson.

“I’m excited to be part of the TRON franchise and bring this new film to fans around the world,” states Rønning. “TRON: Ares builds upon the legacy of cutting-edge design, technology and storytelling. Now more than ever, it feels like the right time to return to the Grid.”

TRON: Ares is slated for release at some point in 2025.
