Echo Valley adds Kyle MacLachlan, Fiona Shaw and Edmund Donovan

May 24, 2024 by Ricky Church

Apple has just added to its cast for the upcoming thriller Echo Valley from Beast director Michael Pearce. According to Deadline, Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Fiona Shaw (IF) and Edmund Donovan (Civil War) will join Julianne Moore, Sydney Sweeney and Domhnall Gleeson in the film.

Echo Valley follows Moore’s Kate Garretson living a rather secluded life on a farm she uses to train horses. Her life changes when he estranged daughter, played by Sweeney, shows up covered in blood and put Kate on a path to do anything to protect her daughter.

MacLachlan will play Richard Garretson, “a successful attorney from an old-money Main Line family. He has a new family and regards his drug-addicted daughter Claire as a self-destructive money pit.”

Shaw will portray Jessie Oliver, “a tough-as-nails horse trainer and Kate’s lifelong friend who is a steadfast source of emotional support.”

Donovan will play Ryan, “a hapless young addict with no impulse control and no moral compass. He and Claire become involved in a network of lies that quickly ensnares Claire’s financially-strapped mother.”

Echo Valley was written by Mare of Easttown‘s Brad Ingelsby. Ridley Scott is producing through Scott Free with Michael Pruss alongside Kevin Walsh for The Walsh Company. Ingelsby, who developed the story with Pruss, will also produce.

Echo Valley follows Kate Garretson (Moore), who is reeling from a personal tragedy and spends her days boarding and training horses at Echo Valley Farm, 22 secluded, picturesque acres in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Late one night, her wayward daughter, Claire (Sweeney), arrives at her doorstep, frightened, trembling, and covered in someone else’s blood, and the story becomes about just how far a mother will go to save her child.

Echo Valley stars Julianne Moore, Sydney Sweeney, Domhnall Gleeson, Kyle MacLachlan, Fiona Shaw and Edmund Donovan.
