Noah Hawley’s Alien series wraps production, unveils title

July 19, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Noah Hawley’s Alien series for FX has wrapped its production, and the filmmaker behind the upcoming prequel is excited to share it with fans.

Creator Noah Hawley was celebrating his other FX series, Fargo, earning 15 Emmy nominations, when he revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he’d finally wrapped production on the now-titled Alien: Earth.

“I’m in post, editing away, and obviously, there’s a large visual effects component that takes time. But I couldn’t be happier with the show we shot,” he tells the outlet.

Hawley also seems confident in his plans: “If people wanted a television series based on the world of Alien, I think I’m gonna give them something special.”

Alien: Earth stars Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, David Rysdahl, Babou Ceesay, Jonathan Ajayi, Erana James, Lily Newmark, Diêm Camille and Adrian Edmondson.

It’s been some time since we first heard about the series, and the show was already early into its production cycle in Thailand when the 2023 actors’ strike shut it down. It took some time to get things back on track, but Hawley has finally stuck the landing.
