Medieval dungeon crawler Expedition: Into Darkness revealed with announcement trailer

August 14, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Antediluvian Interactive has today revealed their debut title Expedition: Into Darkness with an announcement trailer (see below) that teases the environments and horrors that players will face. This third-person grimdark co-op dungeon crawler will have players teaming up with friends to explore nightmarish dungeons and escape with loot, their lives and their sanity.

In Expedition: Into Darkness players will be able to join up with up to four other players and explore procedurally generated dungeons where all manner of horrors and challenges await.  Players will need to assemble weapons, customise their equipment and adapt their strategies as they proceed through the perilous dungeons against overwhelming odds.

Players will begin their journey amidst some ancient and mysterious ruins, from there they will surrender to their desire for glory, power and riches and begin their descent. As they descend into the dungeons they will need to avoid the multitude of deadly traps, including collapsing structures, hidden drops and toxic gasses.

Explorers will encounter a wide variety of formidable monsters, each with their unique strengths and vulnerabilities that players will need to adapt to fighting in order to survive.  Adapting to these different foes will rely on the different weapons and armour that players have and there is a range of weapons, from swords to bows, axes to polearms that they can become accustomed to fighting with.

As well as monsters and unimaginable wealth, the dungeons are also home to various useful resources that players can gather and use to upgrade their weapons, armour, tools, potions and other essential supplies.

Expedition: Into Darkness is available to Wishlist on Steam now. Look out for more news coming soon.
