Osgood Perkins does Stephen King with The Monkey trailer

August 12, 2024 by Matt Rodgers

Neon and Black Bear have launched the teaser trailer for Longlegs director Osgood Perkins’ next dose of nightmare fuel, The Monkey.

Written and directed by Perkins, The Monkey is based on a short story by Stephen King, and tells the story of twin brothers who find their father’s old monkey toy in the attic, only for it to trigger a series of gruesome deaths.

The film stars Theo James (The Gentlemen), Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk), Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth), Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends), Sarah Levy (Schitt’s Creek) and Elijah Wood (The Toxic Avenger). Check out the trailer below…

After stumbling upon their father’s vintage toy monkey in the attic, twin brothers Hal and Bill witness a string of horrifying deaths unfolding around them. In an attempt to leave the haunting behind, the brothers opt to discard the monkey and pursue separate paths over time. However, when the inexplicable deaths resurface, the brothers are compelled to reconcile and embark on a mission to permanently eliminate the cursed toy.
