Lupita Nyong’o joins Christopher Nolan’s new film

November 13, 2024 by Ricky Church

The ensemble cast for Christopher Nolan’s next film keeps growing. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lupita Nyong’o (A Quiet Place: Day One) is the latest to join the star-studded cast.

Nolan has already cast a few actors for his ensemble in his mystery film, which will see Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway and Zendaya starring alongside Nyong’o. This will mark the first time Holland, Zendaya and Nyong’o have starred in a Nolan film while Damon and Hathaway have worked with the famed director before with both starring in his sci-fi epic Interstellar. Damon last worked with Nolan on last year’s Academy Award-winning Oppenheimer while Hathaway starred as Catwoman in the finale of Nolan’s Batman trilogy The Dark Knight Rises.

As is typical with most Nolan films, details on the film are scant with both the story and title under lock and key. What we do know is Nolan has written the script and is producing alongside his wife and producing partner Emma Thomas for their company Syncopy. Universal will produce and distribute the film, continuing their partnership with Nolan after he left Warner Bros. and their successful collaboration on Oppenheimer.

Nyong’o is just coming off Dreamworks’ animated hit film The Wild Robot in which she voiced the title character Roz. Earlier this year she starred in the Quiet Place prequel A Quiet Place: Day One. She is also known for 12 Years A Slave, for which she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, Jordan Peele’s horror film Us, Marvel’s Black Panther films and the Star Wars sequel trilogy.

Nolan’s mystery film will begin production within the first few months of 2025 with a release date set on July 17th 2026.
