Zombie slasher Tokyo Waning Moon gets trailer ahead of release

November 19, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Japanese indie developer Midnight Cupcakes has announced that their fast-paced action game Tokyo Waning Moon will be launching on Steam on 25th November.  With just two controls, players can slay zombies through intense action to a backdrop of a neon lit Tokyo backdrop.  Watch the new trailer below….

Tokyo Waning Moon takes players to Tokyo, not the peaceful anime loving one we may be familiar with but one infested by a plague of zombies created by the Moon’s spell.  Taking control of high school pupil Hibana (who is a member of the Nyx Eradication Foundation), players will have to stand their ground against the hordes in order to reclaim the waning moon of her youth.

Using just a katana, players will need to slash at zombies coming from both directions and master using the two controls to chain attacks and increase their damage and score.

As players progress through the main story, they will also be able to uncover the tales of tragedy surrounding those Tokyo residents transformed by the spell through collectible sub-stories.

Tokyo Waning Moon also features a power up system that will allow players to customise their character using coins that can be collected.  There are 15 different upgrades available to customise the fighting styles and there are 3 devastating flame attacks that Hibana can use.

Look out for Tokyo Waning Moon arriving on Steam on 25th November.
