Keegan-Michael Key cast in Only Murders in the Building season 5

March 7, 2025 by Ricky Church

With the fifth season of Only Murders in the Building now in production, we have our first official addition to the cast for the upcoming season. Per Deadline, Keegan-Michael Key will star alongside Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez in their next murder investigation.

There is no word on if Key will be a new resident of the Arconia or someone outside the famed residence. Another potential cast member we have yet to hear about is Téa Leoni, who made a cameo appearance in the fourth season finale as a woman who wanted to hire Charles, Oliver and Mabel to investigate her husband’s disappearance. It is possible her case will tie into their latest one.

The fourth season ended with the discovery of Lester the doorman’s body found in the Arconia’s courtyard fountain. Lester has been a recurring character since the beginning of the show and has often helped the trio in their cases. He was also very well liked by everyone in the building, making his murder that much more shocking.

We’ll have to see who else will join the fifth season as the list of suspects grows for the podcast hosts.

“In season four of “Only Murders in the Building”, our amateur podcasting trio wrestles with the shocking events at the end of season three surrounding Charles’ stunt double & friend Sazz Pataki. Questioning whether she or Charles was the intended victim, their investigation leads them all the way to Los Angeles where a Hollywood studio is readying a film about the Only Murders podcast. As Charles, Oliver & Mabel race back to New York, they embark on an even more epic journey — traversing their building’s courtyard to delve into the twisted lives of the Arconia’s West Tower residents.”
