Lovecraftian roguelike Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef is Steam Deck Verified

March 10, 2025 by Andrew Newton

First Break Labs and developer The Fine Arc have announced that their Lovecraftian action-roguelike co-op dungeon crawler Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef is Steam Deck Verified.  Also revealed today is the new Roadmap detailing the features set to arrive in the future.  Watch the new trailer below….

Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef takes players into a Lovecraft inspired world as a person riddled with debt and entangled with the local gangster, Mr. Blackwood.  These problems lead players down the dangerous path to the seaside town of Innsmouth, where a great treasure is said to be hidden within the Devil Reef.

As players venture into the labyrinth of tunnels, it soon turns from an exciting treasure hunt into a fight for survival as eldritch horrors roam corridors that contort with a supernatural energy.

Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef  features:

  • Isometric action roguelike gameplay.
  • Play solo or with 3 others in online co-op.
  • Weapons and upgrades to be unlocked.
  • Atmospheric soundtrack and effects.
  • Gain new abilities with Incantation boosts.
  • Generative dungeons – Three Acts with unique bosses – see roadmap.
  • Map Editor for custom player created maps – see roadmap.

During the game’s early access period, players will see the addition of customisations, with new enemies, a new character, a wardrobe and more; a brand-new map editor, allowing players to create their own maps and share them with the community, and the arrival of Act III, which will bring New enemies, weapons and a final boss.

Cthulhu’s Reach: Devil Reef  is available on Steam Early Access now.
