Rockfish Games has announced a 12th May release date for the new, eagerly-awaited expansion for Everspace 2, Wrath of the Ancients. This new expansion will take pilots to new star systems to fight never-seen-before enemies and take on fresh challenges. A new trailer can be seen below providing a peek at the adventures to come…
With Wrath of the Ancients, players will continue the Everspace 2 story with the addition of new post-game and side quest storylines to Cluster 34. Players will find four new star systems to explore, with each filled with a variety of different locations and jam-packed with secrets and side missions all waiting to be discovered.
These distant star systems bring dangerous new threats, new enemies and bosses will be a constant hazard but can be fought with the never-been-seen before Wraith Okkar fighter class ship. This new vessel utilises rare technology capable of consuming fragments of defeated enemies to activate special abilities. This is a high-risk, high-reward ship that can be deadly in the hands of skilled pilots, not so much for the inexperienced.
Other features of this new DLC include:
- New major side quests accessible from midway through the main campaign.
- An expanded cast of new and returning characters.
- New enemy types and bosses.
- Four new and expanded existing star systems including the Okkar homeworlds.
