New trailer for Space Adventure Cobra – The Awakening

April 8, 2025 by Andrew Newton

There have been quite a few games for Cobra (not the Stallone film) over the years but I only ever knew of the awful looking Cobra 2 for the Atari ST. Fortunately, those days are far behind us and thanks to Microids, we have an all-new video game adaptation of the iconic animated series to look forward to.  Space Adventure Cobra – The Awakening will launch on PC and consoles on 26th August.  A new trailer showing how fantastic this game is looking can be watched below…

In Space Adventure Cobra – The Awakening, players will be able to relive the thrilling adventures of Cobra through the first 12 episodes of the series.  Taking the role of the titular hero, and accompanied by loyal partner Lady Armaroid, players will take part in platforming action to solve the mysterious threat hanging over the universe.

Equipped with the iconic Psychogun, players will travel from planet to planet to save three mysterious sisters who have a strange connection to the amazing treasure eagerly sought by the Pirate Guild.  Using gadgets and weapons, players must defeat enemies, bypass obstacles and traps and encounter colourful characters, such as the Royal Sisters and Cobra’s nemesis, the terrifying Crystal Bowie.

Featuring:

  • An adventure that follows the first 12 episodes of the famous anime series, and remains true to the humour.
  • An epic journey across exotic worlds filled with colourful characters.
  • Use Cobra’s superhuman abilities to get past enemies and numerous traps.
  • Iconic weapons and equipment, including the Psychogun, the Colt Python 77, his cigar and grappling hook.
  • A story mode with three difficulty levels.
  • 2 Player co-op mode.

Look out for Space Adventure Cobra – The Awakening will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC on 26th August.
