Blight Night trailer unleashes 80s-inspired retro survival horror

April 9, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Solo developer Nick Duttweiler, with Famous Games and The Game Marketer, has announced that the 80’s inspired survival horror Blight Night will launch on Steam for PC on 29th April.  This love letter to 80’s VHS-era horror will have players fight the terror in a desolate town, all while bathing in the rose-tinted light of CRT scanlines.  Watch the new trailer below…

Taking the role of Sonny Barstow, the only human remaining in the once scenic west Texas town of Golden Springs, players will explore the town to unravel the secret behind what happened to its residents.  On their journey, players will encounter twisted creatures, powerful bosses and horrors that will raise the tension.

A wide variety of weapons are available to discover and use against the terrors in the shadows, however, ammo is rare so choose your battles wisely.

Blight Night features:

  • Dark, haunted ruins to explore and seek out supplies and secrets.
  • Third-person survival-horror with an 80’s CRT aesthetic.
  • A wide variety of weapons to use on the horrors that never come alone.
  • Stay in the dark for too long and Sonny’s life is in danger.
  • Distorted visuals and a synth-laced soundtrack designed to unnerve.

Blight Night is available to Wishlist now on Steam.  For those unable to wait until 29th April, a demo is also available.
