Bullet Train Explosion gets a new trailer and poster ahead of Netflix premiere

April 10, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

Ahead of its arrival on Netflix in just two weeks, a new poster and trailer have been released for director Shinji Higuchi’s upcoming action thriller Bullet Train Explosion.

Based on Junya Sato’s 1975 film The Bullet Train, it centres on the passengers and railway workers of a Tokyo-bound train after the authorities find themselves in a race against time to save them when a mysterious caller claims a bomb will explode if its speed drops below 100 km/h.

Featuring in the cast are Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, Kanata Hosoda, Non, Jun Kaname, Machiko Ono, Hana Toyoshima, Daisuke Kuroda, Satoru Matsuo, Suzuka Ohgo, Matsuya Onoe, Naomasa Musaka, Pierre Taki, Yajuro Bando, and Takumi Saitoh. Watch the trailer below…

A tense phone call came into the Shinkansen General Operation Control Center. The caller claims that a bomb has been planted on the Hayabusa No. 60 bound for Tokyo, and that the bomb will explode as soon as the speed of the Shinkansen train drops below 100 km/h. The caller demands 100 billion yen in ransom money to disarm the bomb. The last-minute battle unfolds as the crew, passengers, and railroad workers strive to prevent the explosion within the limited time available. Will the running Hayabusa No. 60 be able to overcome this crisis?

Bullet Train Explosion arrives on Netflix on April 23rd.
