No More Room in Hell 2 teases Reanimation update

April 11, 2025 by Andrew Newton

The next major update for Torn Banner Studios’ No More Room in Hell 2 will be arriving on 15th April.  Titled Reanimation, this update will feature two brand-new maps, new radial inventory, a revamped combat system and more.  It’s also been announced that a free weekend will run on Steam from 17th-21st April.  Watch the trailer below for a sneak peek at what’s new.

The first of the new maps to arrive since launch is Pottsville. Inspired by classic zombie movies, Pottsville is a small suburban town that provides a claustrophobic feel as the undead close in.  This map is smaller and more densely packed than the Power Plant rural map and features foggy alleyways and unsettling neighbourhood houses. Players will journey through this area as they head downtown to find the critical scientific research.

Also arriving is the new map Lewiston, a panicked city where responders must protect survivors and secure an escape. Responders will need to move fast and secure one of two random evacuation routes, train or boat.

The new radial inventory harkens back to the first No More Room in Hell and allows players to move their mouse into quadrants of their screen to quickly change between items. This new inventory features a weight system for items that players pick up, providing a more fast-paced means to control inventory space, while also forcing players to be more strategic in what items they collect and use.

The update also welcomes Combat 2.0, a revamped system for both ranged and melee attacks to help make player interactions with zombies more dynamic and immersive. Players will be able to use left-to-right or right-to-left attacks to slice off zombie limbs and repeat for stronger attack.

The Reanimation update also features a character roster that will enable players to manage multiple permadeath characters at once. Players will now have three character slots and be able to choose who they take into combat.  A new character re-roll option will be available for players to swap out their three character choices for a fresh set using in-game credits earned from matches.

Look out for the Reanimation update arriving on the 15th April, and the free play weekend from 17th-21st April.
