Dune: Awakening delayed until June

Those looking forward to diving into the world of Arakis will have to wait a few weeks longer as Dune: Awakening has been delayed until 10th June. In an announcement today, Funcom stated that due to feedback received from beta testers, the game would require “more time to cook”.  However, there is a silver lining, there will be another large-scale beta weekend next month – look out for more details on this coming soon.

I am sure there will be many disappointed gamers who were expecting to start surviving everything that Arakis could throw at them in May, but it’s an action that is to be commended from developers. In an age when it’s so easy to stick to the original release date and then release a massive update it’s refreshing for a developer to stop and put the experience first.

Dune: Awakening is a multiplayer survival game on a massive scale that takes players to Arrakis, the most dangerous planet in the Dune universe. Players who venture to this deadly world will not only find scorching hot deserts and lethal Sandworms but also unparalleled beauty. It will be up to players to build up their influence over the planet through constructing huge bases, controlling the Spice flow and defeating the opposition in battle.

Dune: Awakening will now arrive on 10th June with head start launching on 5th June.
