Casting continues on Marvel and Sony’s next Spider-Man movie, with Deadline reporting that Emmy-winner Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear) has joined the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
There’s no details on Colón-Zayas’ specific role in the film, nor has her involvement been officially confirmed by Marvel or Sony, but the actress joins the returning Tom Holland, who reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and new addition Sadie Sink (Stranger Things), who has also joined the film in an unspecified role.
Colón-Zayas is best known for her role as Tina Marrero in FX’s The Bear, a role which has seen her honoured with the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Emmy. Her other credits include the feature films IF and Cat Person.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and will begin production later this year ahead of a July 2026 release. Although the film will mark a new chapter in the life of the web-slinger following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, it is expected that Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will be reprising their roles as MJ and Ned. Expect further official casting news soon.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set for release on July 31st 2026.
