The Netflix Daredevil era never left us, and now all the pieces are coming back together for the new Disney+ series.
After starting to bring the universe over with Daredevil: Born Again, a crucial piece of the puzzle is back in the form of Jessica Jones. It was confirmed at the Disney upfront presentation that Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role.
Ritter joined Daredevil star Charlie Cox for the reveal; it has yet to be confirmed whether fellow Defenders Mike Colter as Luke Cage and Finn Jones as Iron Fist will add to the reunion.
“It’s about not rushing and telling the best story,” noted Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s head of television and animation. “Yes, it’s exciting to think about characters interacting, but it’s about the reasons why. At times we’ve done that very well; at times we’ve rushed. The story has to lead the path.”

Daredevil: Born Again has much to follow up on, with the first season leaving off on a massive cliffhanger. Crime lord Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) has risen to power, leading Matt Murdock (Cox) to go underground and reach out to allies to resist Fisk and his anti-vigilante task force.
There’s still no release date set for the second season, but it is expected in 2026.
