It’s time to Spice up your Steam library as Dune: Awakening arrives

June 10, 2025 by Andrew Newton

It’s time for players to visit the desert planet of Arakis as Funcom’s Dune: Awakening finally arrives on Steam. Those who purchased the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition have had a 5 day head start but now this world is open to all who wish to challenge the power of an Imperium in the biggest and most ambitious Dune game to date. A new trailer can be seen below highlighting parts from previous trailers to make one celebratory trailer that marks today’s release.

Dune: Awakening takes players to the unforgiving desert world of Arakis, where they must endure scorching sun, deadly sandstorms and the deadly sandworms. Players will be able to craft everything they need to survive, from weapons and armour to the ground vehicles and iconic Ornithopters.

Players can now advance their personal and political power by siding with House Atreides or Harkonnen and can also participate in activities that will influence the shared world.

The world of Dune: Awakening is an expansive multiplayer one where hundreds of players will coexist. Together, these gamers will trade, battle, navigate the political maze and work together to make it come to life.

Also available from today is the Dune: Awakening Season Pass, which includes the Wildlife of Arrakis DLC. This first of four DLCs includes four in-game statues celebrating some of the planet’s most tenacious creatures: the sandworm, chiroptera, kulon and Muad’Dib. The other three DLCS will arrive in Q4 2025, Q1 2026 and Q2 2026.

Dune: Awakening and the Season Pass are available on Steam now.
