Wargaming celebrates 10 years of World of Warships with new update

September 2, 2025 by Andrew Newton

World of Warships has been bringing naval warfare to the high seas for ten whole years, and to celebrate this momentous occasion, Wargaming has made September’s update one filled with plenty of new content, huge rewards, and so much more. Watch the new video below to see more of what update 14.8 brings.

Over the past decade, World of Warships has amassed over 1.2 billion hours of playtime and has seen players take control of more than 800 historically accurate ships. With this epic milestone, players will be able to get their hands on plenty of free ships, bonuses, and more. There’s a Daily Login Calendar, and by logging in each day, players can earn rewards, such as Supercontainers, Coal, Credits, free experience, days of Premium Account access, and Festive Tokens. These tokens can be used in the Armoury to gain up to Supercontainers – including the “Finest Hour”, “Resolute and Rapid”, “The Age of Sa Zhenbing” or “Battle of Paso De Patria” Containers. There are also ships to gain, including the Tier X Japanese Premium heavy cruiser Kushiro.

Free Containers will also be available, with each bringing a variety of rare ships. There’s a a very special 10th Anniversary Gift Container to earn, which will guarantee a Tier VI ship. A Premium Ship VII Container can be earned with a 10th anniversary Event Pass. For veteran players with five or more years of service and at least 25 battles under their belt, a Premium Ship VIII Elite Container will be available, and a Premium Ship X Elite Container for those who have been with the game for the whole decade.

Other features of September’s update are the Blast from the Past limited-time game mode. This removes aircraft carriers and submarines for the original experience and is structured across six phases that shines a light of the game’s development over the past decade. A new nostalgic Decade Dock Port with 10-year’s worth of Easter Eggs to find. The “In the Name of Tomorrow” campaign continues, and there’s the return of Asymmetric Battles.

Finally, a new line of German Cruisers dock into Early Access. Players can set sail in Tier VI heavy cruiser Deutschland, Tier VII heavy cruiser Admiral Scheer, Tier VIII heavy cruiser Knesebeck, Tier IX heavy cruiser Manteuffel, and Tier X heavy cruiser Prinz Adalbert. These vessels excel in close-quarters combat using their large main battery guns, while Secondary Batteries can make up for their short range. They are also bundled with Improved Hydroacoustic Search and high defense.

Dive in to World of Warships now and take part in the celebrations.
