Tom Baker’s Fourth Doctor meets the Last Queen of the Nile in Doctor Who adventure from Big Finish

September 5, 2025 by Andrew Newton

The Fourth Doctor, Leela and K9 arrive for two new epic audio adventures as Big Finish Productions release The Fourth Doctor Adventures: The Last Queen of the Nile, the final Fourth Doctor box set of 2025.

These last two adventures of the year take the time travellers to a remote oil rig with a very silent but deadly enemy, and to ancient Egypt where they get caught up in one of history’s greatest romances. The two epic audio adventures in this new box set are:

Conspiracy of Silence by Jonathan Morris (2 parts) – This terrifying and unforgettable story sees the Doctor and Leela recruited by the Brigadier to investigate the sudden loss of contact with a remote oil rig. When the pair arrive, they find nothing, no crew members, none of the previous investigation teams, nobody except the Silence.

The Last Queen of the Nile by David K Barnes (4 parts) – When the Doctor, Leela and K9 arrive in ancient Egypt, not far from Alexandria, they have a chance encounter with Mark Antony. When he then goes on to join Cleopatra, the trio realise they are about to witness one of the most famous romances in history. Unfortunately, this romance threatens the power of Rome, and Caesar is trying to convince the senate to declare war on Egypt. As tragedy approaches, the time travellers suddenly find themselves trapped in the middle of disaster.

From L to R: Jon Culshaw, David Richardson, Jonathan Morris, Charlie Hayes, Tom Baker, Nick Briggs, John Leeson, Louise Jameson

Tom Baker reprises his role as the Fourth Doctor, Louise Jameson once again plays Leela, and John Leeson plays K9. Joining them are Jon Culshaw as the Brigadier, Nicholas Briggs plays the Silence, Pippa Bennett-Warner as the beautiful Cleopatra, Michael Lumsden as Mark Anthony, Charlie Hayes as Nolan, Blake Ritson as Octavian Caesar, Ben Porter as Canidius, Timothy Blore as Antyllus, and Samantha Lawson as Charmion.

The Doctor himself, Tom Baker said: “It’s marvellous to be relating to very famous historical figures, especially Cleopatra and Antony. They are fascinating characters and have mesmerised writers and historians for generations. It’s very, very touching and fine, I think.”
