As part of its New York Comic Con presentation this weekend, Marvel debuted a trailer for its next Disney+ TV series Wonder Man.
Created by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Spider-Man: Brand New Day director Destin Daniel Cretton along with showrunner Andrew Guest (Hawkeye), the series takes a meta approach to the superhero movie business and sees Watchmen and Aquaman’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, a struggling actor trying to secure a part in a remake of the superhero film Wonder Man alongside former Mandarin “star” Trevor Slattery, played by the returning Ben Kingsley.
In addition to Yahya Abdul-Meteen II and Ben Kingsley, the cast of Wonder Man also includes Demetrius Grosse, Ed Harris, Arian Moayed, Lauren Glazier, Josh Gad, Bechir Sylvain, Dane Larsen, X Mayo, Byron Bowers, Zlatko Burić, and Olivia Thirlby. Check out a teaser below, followed by the full trailer…
Aspiring Hollywood actor Simon Williams is struggling to get his career off the ground. During a chance meeting with Trevor Slattery, an actor whose biggest roles may be well behind him, Simon learns legendary director Von Kovak is remaking the superhero film “Wonder Man.” These two actors at opposite ends of their careers doggedly pursue life-changing roles in this film as audiences get a peek behind the curtain of the entertainment industry.
Marvel’s Wonder Man is set to premiere on Disney+ on January 27th 2025.
