Kevin Feige confirms that MCU characters will appear in the Spider-Man reboot

April 8, 2016 by Gary Collinson

From the moment that Marvel and Sony announced they’d reached a deal to bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe for Captain America: Civil War ahead of a solo reboot, there was speculation that the deal would see characters from the MCU appearing in the wall-crawler’s own movie.

MCU stalwarts Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. appeared to let slip that they’d be working together in Atlanta, which just so happens to be where Spider-Man will shoot, while the recent title rumour also suggested an appearance from Cap and Iron Man could be on the cards.

Well, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has now confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that we will see some MCU characters popping up in the Jon Watts-directed reboot, with the producer stating that: “He is in the universe now, and the fun of the universe is that characters go back and forth.”

Which characters would you like to see appearing alongside Spider-Man? Or should Sony keep the focus on the wall-crawler for the first movie? Let us know in the comments below…

Captain America: Civil War is set for release on April 29th 2016 in the UK and May 6th 2016 in the States, while the as-yet-untitled Spider-Man reboot is set for release on July 7th 2017.
