Rumour: Tom Hiddleston in “advanced talks” for James Bond role

May 27, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Fresh from the news that Jamie Bell (Fantastic Four) has held discussions with producer Barbara Broccoli about taking on the role of James Bond, Birth.Movies.Death is now reporting that Tom Hiddleston is in “advanced talks” to succeed Daniel Craig as 007.

The site claims that the news can be taken in two ways: that Daniel Craig is out as Bond and the role is Hiddleston’s for the taking, or that Eon is talking to other actors in an attempt to gauge a response from Craig with regards to him continuing in the role.

Given that it’s Birth.Movies.Death, a third way of taking this news could be that they’re trying to guess a scoop and have heard that the bookmakers have been taking a tonne of bets on Hiddleston for the role – so much so that one has suspended all betting. That being said, they have had a couple of accurate scoops lately…

What do you make of this news? Are you excited at the prospect of Tom Hiddleston as Bond? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
