Drew Goddard leaves Marvel’s Daredevil series, Steven S. DeKnight joins as showrunner

May 24, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Yesterday, Marvel Studios and Edgar Wright released a joint statement announcing that Wright has vacated the director’s chair on his long-gestating adaptation of Ant-Man.

Now Latino-Review has revealed that Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods) has left the Daredevil miniseries, where he was slated to write and direct the pilot, as well as serving as executive producer and showrunner on the series.

Goddard has apparently given up the position due to his commitments to Sony’s Amazing Spider-Man spin-off The Sinister Six, but will remain involved as executive producer, while fellow Buffy the Vampire slayer veteran Steven S. DeKNight (Spartacus) has taken over as showrunner on the 13-episode series.
