Walton Goggins will face off with Lara Croft as the villain in Tomb Raider reboot

December 8, 2016 by Ricky Church

The Hateful Eight‘s Walton Goggins has been cast as the main antagonist in the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot. He joins Alicia Vikander, who will be portraying the title role of Lara Croft.

Not much is known about the film other than it will reportedly revolve around Lara’s search for her missing father and take inspiration from the more recent games in the franchise. Transformers: The Last Knight writer Geneva Robertson-Dworet is writing the script while Roar Uthaug has been tapped to direct. This will be the first Tomb Raider film since Angelina Jolie’s second outing in 2003.

Tomb Raider is set for release on March 16th, 2018.
