15 finalists for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature announced

Earlier in the week the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences announced the list of twenty films in contention for the nomination for Best Visual Effects at the 89th Academy Awards in February, and now we have word on the fifteen films vying for a nod in the Best Documentary Feature category.

The Academy will narrow the above down to five films when the nominations are announced on January 24th, ahead of the Oscar ceremony on Sunday, February 26th.
