J.K. Rowling denies Harry Potter and the Cursed Child movie trilogy rumours

January 21, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Despite the fact that Warner Bros. is currently expanding J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World with the five-film Fantastic Beasts franchise, rumours continue to persist that the studio is prepping an adaptation of the hit stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Back in August, it was reported – and subsequently denied – that Warner Bros. planned to approach Daniel Radcliffe for a return as Harry in a Cursed Child trilogy, and now the rumour has reared its head once again, with talk that the studio has already held talks with Radliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, hoping to do a “Harry Potter: The Force Awakens” reunion.

Well, not so, according to J.K. Rowling, who posted the following on Twitter…

This. Is. Not. True. pic.twitter.com/BAzuKJiCOO

Expect the rumour to keep popping up every year or so until Warner Bros. decides it is time to move ahead with a Cursed Child adaptation and we get the official announcement.
