The rights to a new anthology series titled Electric Dreams has been picked up by Amazon Studios. The series, which is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Bryan Cranston, will feature adaptations of the famed sci-fi work of iconic writer Philip K. Dick.
Dick’s work has been adapted many times for the screen, perhaps most famously with Blade Runner, an adaptation of his story Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? – the work which this new series gets its title inspiration.
The show already has a bunch of writers on board, who have worked on high profile projects such as Pacific Rim, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Justified.
Electric Dreams comes from Cranston’s Moon Shot Entertainment. Cranston himself is expected to appear in the series. A similar relationship to that of Cranston’s other Amazon series, Sneaky Pete.
There is no premiere date for Electric Dreams at this time but we’ll keep you posted.
