Fox and Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps adapting fantasy series Three Dark Crowns

February 27, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Variety has revealed that Kendare Blake’s four-volume fantasy book series Three Dark Crowns is heading to the big screen, with 20th Century Fox snapping up the movie rights and enlisting Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps to produce.

Three Dark Crowns follows “triplets who are all equal heirs to the crown and have magical powers — one can spark flames or storms, another can ingest the deadliest poisons, and the third can bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.”

The first book was published in September 2016, with the second volume – One Dark Throne – set to arrive this September.

Originally published February 27, 2017. Updated April 15, 2018.
