Rumour: Stranger Things’ David Harbour testing for Cable in Deadpool 2

March 2, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Over the past few months, we’ve had several actors linked to the role of Nathan Summers, a.k.a. Cable, in 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool sequel, and now we can add another name to the list.

According to El Mayime, Stranger Things star David Harbour is being eyed to play Cable, and has apparently screen-tested for the role. Of course, this doesn’t necessarily mean Harbour is going to be offered the role, as it’s likely that Fox will be seeing a number of candidates, and as always with El Mayimbe a healthy pinch of salt is required.

Previous names that have been linked to Cable include Bloodline’s Kyle Chandler (who was reportedly Deadpool director Tim Miller’s choice before he left the project), and Pierce Brosnan, who was rumoured to be in talks after photos emerged of the former 007 alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld also expressed his interest in seeing Russell Crowe in the role, although he seemed to piss Crowe off a little by suggesting he should audition.

What do you make of Harbour as a potential Cable? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
