Atlanta star Zazie Beetz to play Domino in Deadpool 2

March 9, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Originally published March 9, 2017. Updated November 30, 2022.

20th century Fox and director David Leitch have found their Domino for Deadpool 2, with star Ryan Reynolds revealing on Twitter – via a rather unique tweet – that Atlanta star Zazie Beetz has been cast as Neena Thurman in the hotly-anticipated sequel.

So, it looks like the recent reports from The Hashtag Show about Kerry Washington and Janelle Monae being the number one choices for the role were wide of the mark. In fact Beetz’s name has been absent from all of the rumours, shortlists and speculation over the past few months. Don’t be surprised if the same thing happens when an actor is announced for Cable.

The character of Domino made her comic book debut in 1992#s X-Force #8, and possesses the powers of telekinetic probability manipulation, which allows her to alter the odds in her favour.
