Ryan Murphy sets new drama Pose at FX

March 19, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Not content with American Horror Story, American Crime Story and Feud, FX has picked up another series from producer Ryan Murphy entitled Pose, which he is writing with his frequent collaborator Brad Falchuk and up-and-coming writer Steven Canals.

Deadline reports that the new drama will take place in 1986 and “examines the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York City: the emergence of the luxury Trump-era universe, the downtown social and literary scene and the ball culture world.”

Casting is currently underway for Pose, which is expected to feature an ensemble of new and unknown talent, ahead of a premiere in 2018. Murphy is producing with American Crime Story producers Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson, along with Sherry Marsh (Vikings).

FX has several Murphy projects on the horizon; the seventh season of American Horror Story will air later this year, while he is also developing two further seasons of American Crime Story in Katrina and Versace, along with a second season of Feud focussing on Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
