With Fox in development on a small screen adaptation of the 2001 action thriller Behind Enemy Lines, Deadline is reporting that Willa Fitzgerald (Scream) and Dylan Bruno (Numb3rs) have signed on to appear in the pilot, which is being directed by McG (Charlie’s Angels) from a script by Nikki Toscano (Revenge).
Behind Enemy Lines is described as a military soap thriller and will adopt a multi-perspective narrative which follows a group of U.S. soldiers trapped behind enemy lines, along with the officers and service men and women on a nearby aircraft carrier and intelligence officers back in Washington as they attempt to bring the heroes home.
Deadline is reporting that Fitzgerald will play Roxanne Daly, a Navy pilot stationed on the USS Tyson, with Bruno as Scott Byrne, the cautious, but firm Commander of the Air Group, who has a lot of pilots under his command.
The 2001 movie starred Owen Wilson and Gene Hackman, and was followed by three direct-to-video sequels in Behind Enemy Lines II: Axis of Evil, Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia and Seal Team 7: Behind Enemy Lines.
