Charlie Hunnam dismisses Green Arrow casting rumours and superhero movie roles

March 25, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Earlier this year some fan art appeared online showing Pacific Rim and Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam as Oliver Queen. However, if you were hoping to see the actor taking on the role of Green Arrow in the DC Extended Universe, I’m afraid we have some bad news for you.

Speaking to Yahoo Movies, Hunnam was asked whether he’d be interested in portraying the character, and he responded that: “I didn’t grow up a comic book fan and I haven’t really seen any of those Marvel films or the Batman films. It’s just not really my taste. I must confess I don’t really know who the Green Arrow is. It’s not part of my vision for my career or what I aspire to.”

Hunnam can currently be seen in cinemas in The Lost City of Z [read our reviews here and here], and also leads the upcoming Guy Ritchie-directed action-adventure King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, which opens in May.

Are you disappointed that Hunnam has no interested in Green Arrow, or superhero movies in general? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
